Adidas by Stella McCartney recently unveiled an eco release from a collaboration with sustainability group Parley for the Oceans. The group transforms discarded marine plastic waste into performance yarn.

Designed to enhance the natural female foot form, the Adidas by Stella McCartney Parley UltraBoost X also sees the Parley yarn knitted into the Primeknit upper. The craft provides a sock-like fit that delivers a stable sneaker, according to Adidas.

McCartney’s influence is taken from her own British luxury fashion brand, producing ethical clothing that is built to last. She wanted to channel this ideology into every piece helped to create. “For me, preserving and respecting the planet is fundamental to what I do and I always try to make an effort to consider that in my designs,” she adds. “I’m really impressed by the work Adidas and Parley for the Oceans do to create the materials used in our high-performance apparel and footwear,” she mentioned.

The Adidas by Stella McCartney Parley UltraBoost X is now available in stores and online, priced at US$216.
