After the impressive success of the recent collaboration between Uniqlo and JW Anderson, the two have decided to double up and join forces once again for an SS18 collection.
As improbable as it sounded when first announced, such collaboration between the giant Japanese chain and the proudly British designer turned out to be a fortunate relationship as well as a lucrative business deal. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that Uniqlo just announced an upcoming new exclusive collection created through the renovated collaboration with JW Anderson “following the positive response worldwide for its 2017 fall/winter line”.
The latter, as a matter of fact, became a best-seller throughout most of Uniqlo stores, delivering a smooth balance between technical innovative garments and British heritage, low-priced basics and bold branded pieces. Just like the first collection, also the new line will include both menswear and womenswear, likely with the typical genderless vibe of JWA that might even allow customers to switch departments.
“The first collaboration was super exciting for me and I am very happy with the results. I am proud of it and I think the pieces are incredibly well made. The line was also a good bridge between the ideal of British classicism and my own brand” said Anderson.
So what should we expect from the (re)debuting collaboration?
The English designer has already revealed that the main core of the SS18 collection will be focused on layering and on the mix-matching of different elements. The idea for the new line, as stated by Anderson, is to produce “items that interlink with each other”. One could add, just like JW Anderson and Uniqlo so brilliantly do.
The collection will be released in the upcoming Spring 2018 both online and in all Uniqlo stores worldwide.
