Phoebe English is one of the proudly born and raised British brands showcasing their collection in occasion of the London Fashion Week Men’s 2017. The presentation took place yesterday at 180 Strand and the entirely UK-based designs successfully portrayed the core and the values of the brand without losing the trends flow of the moment. Functional comfort and a meaningful connection to nature were, in fact, two vibrant factors spread across the capsule collection.
Such traits were recognisable from the choice of fabrics, all made of natural fibres, to the greater relevance of the garments’ shapes rather than their potential embellishments. The attention to detail was undeniable, from eye-catching embroidery to architecturally avant-garde shapes. The main characters in this spotlight were the designs’ bicolour combinations and their careful finishing processes: from bold hues of blue to natural ecru, from oversized external seams and signature stripes to the fastening soft cotton ropes adopted in every outfit.
Overall the capsule collection showcased has all the qualities for pleasing both the public and the runway: wearable designs with a twist and an easy-going yet well-conceived look, revealing the customer’s personality underneath the clothes just as much as the brand’s behind their conception.
