After almost a decade showing in cities including Seoul, Singapore and Milan, South Korean menswear brand D.GNAK makes its debut at London Fashion Week Men’s for its SS18 show

Born and raised in South Korea, designer Kang Dong Jun studied at the esteemed Parsons School of Design in New York City. Founding D.GNAK in 2008, the brand is one of the most exciting names to emerge for Seoul’s vibrant fashion scene, combining traditional Eastern influences with Western tailoring.

For SS18 D.GNAK shows a modern interpretation, drawing inspiration from a single Chinese word: 因, that translates into “inevitable interaction”. The coming together of two predestined paths to form one outcome, by the meeting of yin and yuan. The minimalistic but perfectly tailored collection, designed with a spiritual nature, is both fashionable and functional, including details such as strings, zips, belt loops and buckles. With designs in colors of beiges, mustards and yellows, combined with bold red, the brand is visually pushing into a new direction. Adopting the Western culture’s constant demand for faster and more clothes, D.GNAK, embraced the See Now, Buy Now trend this season, offering its pieces for sale straight off the runway.
