Phoebe English showcased her Autumn/Winter 17 collection during London Fashion Week at Fitzrovia Chapel. Hope, unity, tyranny, fear, apathy, voice, courage and repair formed the symbolic characters for Phoebe English’s presentation, portraying the women as symbols of strength and resilience.
Phoebe English expertly presents a theme of unity by emphasising on colour symbolism and an accumulation of textures and textiles. Pieces this season include black and green draped dresses and jackets in trapped golden woven sequins, velvet, silks, tulle, bouclé wools and shirting cottons. The use of sheer fabrics creates bold silhouettes, with delicate forms portraying the recurring theme of fragility within this season.
This season marks the third collaboration, with British knit wear heritage brand, John Smedley. Twisted draped knit pieces are presented in both silk and felted merino.
