Missguided has opened a physical store in Westfield Stratford.
Online shopping is both one of the wonders and comforts of the modern age. It’s quick, it’s easy, less time consuming, and makes finding the right colours and sizes simpler than chasing down staff in a shop. However, with all of the joy of online shopping, there are still many who feel that it will never compare to the experience of physical shopping. And it goes without saying that online shopping makes trying before you buy much harder. So, when the much loved online fashion retailer, Missguided, opened ‘in real life’ in Westfield Stratford, it was no surprise that it caused such a stir.
When Missguided first opened up a physical store in November, the magnitude of the general excitement amongst most young women was probably equalled only by the layout of the store itself. Greeting you first thing as you walk into the store is the enormous pink truck. Mannequins toss pink money in the air, dressed in bright outfits, with the heads of unicorns and striking poses which dare you to enter a world that was previously only available in a virtual reality.
The floor layout shows various spiralling sections giving Missguided the feeling of a mini department store. Massive screens showing clips of a partying Baddie Winkle and bright pink lights all feed the frenzy that exploded when this store opened, giving the stand alone store a novelty feel. Finally, allowing buyers to touch and feel the clothes of a brand that they have so love, allows buyers to come to physical grips with the type of brand that misguided is – fun, loud, bright, fashionable and young.
