Adidas have been collaborating with Pharrell Williams for years and the hype this global superstar brings to the world of trainers is outstanding. Next in line for the collaboration is the eagerly anticipated Pharrell x Adidas Originals Tennis Hu.
Adidas’ Primeknit technology (the rival to Nike’s Flyknit), digitally knits the upper in just one piece, and with the perforations on the side being a nod to the famous three stripes, the result is a smooth, lightweight, and minimalist trainer. Pharrell has been known to rework the recognisable Stan Smith silhouette in his past collaborations and this time the music mogul has opted for a contemporary twist.
Adidas says the shoe celebrates the hues of humanity and they’ve picked a couple of statement colours for the EVA midsole in this vein. You have the choice of a classic green or a sharp sunny yellow but both work with the undeniably cool chunky laces.
The yellow edition also comes with a golden metallic ‘Equality logo’ on the heel patch which adds something a little bit special to an already clean looking sneaker, which is perfect for summer. If this shoe sells out as quickly as his other collaborations, you can expect more exciting colourways in the future.
The Pharrell x Adidas Originals Tennis Hu hits stores on May 6th and online.
