It’s true! What hasn’t the pop princess put her magnificently pointy nails on? It is also true that these days, many celebrities and musicians alike are currently ‘trying’ to claim themselves as designers – we mention no names. But, Rihanna’s collaborations have been abundant and diverse. She started off with Armani, forayed into River Island and even fronted a Balmain campaign as well as Dior, all before taking over at Puma – quite literally.
Rihanna is more than another beautiful face, Vogue has described her as a style icon of our generation. Unafraid to be eclectic and repeatedly trusted in the design world, Rihanna must have more than an over-worked stylist. What impresses us with Rihanna is her sartorial reach; when even after creating a sell-out collection of fury sliders for Puma, Chopard welcomed her into their world with open arms in an exclusive Rihanna x Chopard collaboration! Chopard, as in the century-old luxury Swiss jewellery maker only catering to the high-high end. Her appeal is apparently boundless across class and wealth.
But when you’re not quite busy enough creative directing alongside your music career, then it’s time to try something new. Something like a new collaboration and reinvention of Haute Joaillerie. With a bracelet, chains and rings cast in rose gold and chandelier earrings doused in diamonds, the collection is inspired by the ‘greenery of Barbados and electricity of Carnival’. Still available to reserve, the Haute collection is only ‘price on request’. So, maybe there is few of us that can afford her latest creations, we are also very excited to see the next Rihanna collaboration from this unstoppable force.
