Victoria Beckham earned herself a royal title. The former Spice Girl received an OBE from none other than Prince William, on Wednesday at Buckingham Palace, for her services to the fashion industry and for her charity work over the course of nearly two decades. She was joined by her husband David Beckham, former England football captain, who was made an OBE in 2003.
On being given the title, Victoria said to BBC: “It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today. I’m proud to be British, honored and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge.”
After stepping away from the music scene, Beckham developed a line of jeans called VB Rocks for the Rock & Republic brand in 2004. In 2007, she launched her own line of sunglasses called dVb Eyewear and a line of jeans soon followed. One year later, Beckham officially kicked off her career in fashion with a showing at New York Fashion Week in 2008. She recently launched a collection for Target that sold out in just a few hours. Beckham was also named a UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador in September 2014.
